The Basics
The rules of camogie are similar to hurling, with the following differences:
- A player may play the sliothar to their hand a total of three times as opposed to two in hurling.
- Players may handpass into the goal or over the bar to score.
- If a band is present on the bas of the hurley then it needs to be taped.
- The pitch is smaller than a standard hurling pitch.
- Camogie teams field thirteen players aside versus fifteen for hurling.
- The sliothar is slightly smaller (size 4 versus size 5).
- The goals are also slightly smaller.
