15 on the 15th!

Wow, 15 years.

The MHC turns 15 this year and with that comes many milestones that have been reached. We want the whole club as well as families and supporters and past members and sponsors and friends to celebrate!

We have decided to throw a party at the pitch, which will coincide with the club’s semi-finals on Sunday, August 15th.  The day will feature great hurling (think… best four teams competing for a spot in the club finals), families, great food, music, and a huge, wonderful, 15-years-in-the-building celebration.

For the past 14 years the MHC has held the Hurler’s Ball to essentially bid adieu to the season.  But with our 15th year being such a big deal, we wanted to make sure as many people attended as possible.

The team is feverishly working out the details on food, entertainment and all the other work that goes into something like this.  If you would like to help please let us know.

MHC Band Night – July 30th – The Irish Pub

The Milwaukee Hurling Club will be hosting the first MHC Band Night on Friday, July 30th at The Irish Pub! The club has a lot of talented musicians that will be bringing their groups together for this very exciting event!

The idea came from the fact that many MHC hurlers apparently have skills other than smacking a small white ball with an ash stick. Our first thought was to have MHC Profession night but sitting around watching folks do their jobs just didn’t sound that compelling.

Then it dawned on us! You can’t swing a stick without hitting someone who plays music. That’s it! MHC Band Night!

The line up is:

-T.E.D. featuring rookie youth hurler Reiley Hofschulte’s dad Eric ‘E’ Hofschulte – 7:00 – 8:30 PM

-Into Arcadia featuring speedster and that other wicked MHC drummer Antonio Ninham - 8:30 – 9:30 PM

-Atomic Whiskey Test featuring youth coaches Cory “Hell Yeah I Can Sing’ Johnson, Michael ‘Papa B’ Bathke and and Carl ‘Play it by Ear’ Whitney – 9:30 -11:00 PM

-Trance Halo featuring County Clare captain & masterful drummer Russ ‘Le Tigre’ Fink as well as Christ ‘Noah’s Dad’ Radomski – 11:00 – midnight

The will be drink specials, games and merchandise.

Please see or contact Michael Bathke if you have a band and are interested in participating. We will also need volunteers for that night.
